I have done it and my parents have as well to my own softbank phone.
Yahoo works fine. Keep it short and simple. I do not know if sending attachments work. Its possible though because you can open attachments on softbank phones.

now and returned i see a question at here asserting why do people no longer enable emails and not enable others to be certain their Q`s and A`s. properly for this reason i don`t, interior of hours of adjusting right into a member of i had some nut sending me abusive messages because of the fact they didn`t like one answer i gave. i'm an grownup who can communicate up for myself yet i got here upon i grew to become into spending plenty time replying to those twats who merely had to insult. sufficient. I didn`t come here for that.

I don't understand why you can't reply. It's a cellphone e-mail address, but that shouldn't be a problem. Japanese phones use regular e-mail, not SMS.
Possible issues:
- You are trying to send a large attachment.
- You are using html in the message (try plain text)
- Outlook is causing problems. Try to send it from a web-based mail.

Bluemoon is correct, although she has put it in rather convaluted
English.
What she means is,that you will NOT be able to answer any email address that ends in'... @softbank.ne.jp 'if the user of that address uses a high security level, or has blocked your email address.
If you know this user, the only way for you to change this, is to phone him/her, and ask them to reduce their security level so that you can reply to him/her.

Usually people can access to the address which has @softbank.ne.jp from any yahoo mail address. I think it seems because the sender intentionally blocks some particular domain's mails. Once he set the reject service, there is nothing to do for you without direct request by otther way.
