Question:
What does the Japanese word Binbo mean? Can it be used casually?

I thought it meant poor - just regular poor, no bad connotations. But I recently found out about the english word bimbo being a very derogatory comment. I'm really confused about how and when to use the japanese word. If I were to just joke around about being a broke college student, for example, can I say something like, 'binbo da yo.'
Please let me know.

Yes, it means poor (have no money), but it usually sounds "little" serious...lol

If you said "binbou dayo", I'd ask you "hey, are you okey?"...

The two words have no connection and different meanings. It is only a coincidence that they sound alike.

You are correct that you can use the Japanese word binbo casually.

My understanding of what repent means, is to change ones direction. Morally, ethically, mentally, emotionally, etc. To repent means to understand the natural consequences of what the life you are currently living will produce, and choose to change your direction. Another scriptural reference which is asking you to do the same thing, is when Paul says for us to have the same Mind in us that was in Christ Jesus. That is my understanding. Peace and Namaste!

Bimbo does not have any bad nuance in Japanese. I'm sure you can say "bimbo dayo" without a problem.
