Is there a way I can write vertically in a word document on a Mac? I'm writing a letter and want to include the address on the envelope, too.

How can I write vertically without continually hitting enter after every character?

Yes, this is correct. You don't need to exchange 中頭郡 and 読谷村.

Without a little more info, it's hard to help you. Some options are to make a watermark which can be rotated. Another is to build a table in which you change the text direction of a particular cell (if you don't want the lines showing its a table, remove the borders).

There are two ways to go about this.

A) use a text box and spin it vertically

B) go to format>orientation an set it to landscape. You could also choose to print onto an envelope sized paper.
