Hey, whatever you bring they will love. Customarily the Japanese people give each other food gifts generally deserts (o-miyage). Maybe bring some of your favorite type of candy. Poptarts most halloween candy, snickers, baby ruth, life saver lollipops and anything super sweet or chocolate covered usually aren't sold over there. The CDs are a great idea.

Don't get too worried about the gift thing it's the thought that counts. It's so cool that you are going to get to have this experience. I really want to go on a trip like that sometime.

Goodluck,

P.S are you going to be writing a blog or newsletter about your trip or anything? I'd love to hear more about your trip.

Its a well notion to convey a few items for your host household on account that in Japan, there's a customized to convey a few items while consult with or keep at someones apartment. (But of direction that is withing the Japanese) So if you'll convey a few items to them, they are going to be so blissful. Basically, any items might be nice however i assume they desire to grasp in which you return from, how is your fatherland appear like, etc.. You can take plenty of graphics of yourself, your household and peers, vicinity or purchase a ebook of Arcadia with tons of graphics!

Generally you want to bring something that represents where you are from. Maybe bring a small gift for each member of the family, and one gift for the family as a whole. Nothing extremely expensive is necessary.

They will also return the favor and if you give very expensive gifts it puts the pinch on them to give

something of equal or slightly higher value.

Some ideas are: picture books or calendars, ashtrays, coasters, chocolates, fragrant bath salts

t-shirts or jackets of sports teams, BBQ sauces; dijon or dark mustards, unique salad dressings,

jams or other preserves, soap or shampoos, lotions, nuts, dates, dried fruits, flavored coffees and teas, keychains, postcards, mugs, and so on. Actually some cologne for one of the girls would be nice if it's a light fragrance that she likes. With oppressive school rules she can't wear it except on weekends and vacations, but that doesn't mean she wouldn't like it. You can bring in beef jerky too,

but you could run into some interference at Customs, so make sure the package spells out it is safe for export. Many makers even put a message in Japanese on the package.
